Heat Recovery Applications
Heat recovery from air compressors is especially suited for:
- Industries needing hot water (eg cleaning, showers), space heating, process heat, or other thermal loads that can be served by recovered heat.
- Plants interested in energy savings, reducing utility costs, lowering carbon footprint, or meeting environmental/efficiency regulations.
- Systems where operating hours of compressors are high (makes the recovered heat more valuable).
PowerControl or PowerPack?
PowerControl is a heat recovery pump module intended for air compressors that already have an oil/water heat exchanger.
PowerPack is a compact heating plant for oil-injected air compressors. It is intended for compressors that do NOT have an oil/water heat exchanger.
Both PowerControl and PowerPack:
- are designed to work with oil compressors of all makes.
- help capture a large proportion of the waste heat from compressor oil, improving overall energy utilisation
- have automated controls, pumping equipment and controller logic to maximise the waste heat you can recover from the compressor system.
- have a variable-speed pump & smart controls to automatically adjust water flow in relation to oil temperature. This ensures a safe, efficient transfer of heat and helps avoid the compressor overcooling or overheating.
- have a built-in controller and oil and water sensors. This lets you set target receiving temperatures, and includes safety limits.
- have a heat meter so you can track how much energy (heat) you’re recovering, useful for ROI calculations, reporting or energy cost savings tracking.
- have a built-in Ethernet interface which allows integration with BMS/SCADA for data collection and analysis
Sizing is important: you need to match PowerControl and PowerPack models to the compressor’s rated power and expected heat load.
