Data Acquisition System

Monitoring your systems for performance, maintenance and efficiency is becoming more important as energy and production costs increase. Having good data is essential to understanding what is happening within a system, but being able to understand and interpret that data is very important, so making sure the right experts can access the information in a timely manner from anywhere in the world becomes a critical component of any monitoring system.

The Data Acquisition System (DAS) is a cloud-based method for measuring and monitoring compressed air, gas, steam, energy and water data usage. It is ideally suited to the industrial and manufacturing sectors and is able to be monitored from anywhere there is internet access.

It is simple and easy to use – connect measurement equipment to the Data Acquisition Module. The module transmits data to a secure server. View data and manage system performance via your web browser.

Key Features

  • Remotely measure and monitor data 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
  • High data frequency and endless logging capacity
  • Set service schedules and receive notifications
  • Set alarms and SMS and/or email notifications
  • Document system schematics
  • View monthly reports
  • Track performance against targets
  • Download data in csv format

Monitoring your system for performance, maintenance and efficiency is becoming more important as energy and production costs increase.

The DAS allows you to remotely measure and monitor your compressed air system and other site utilities. Give operators, managers, and other plant personnel the information and analytical tools they need to make data-driven decisions regarding operation, maintenance, and upgrades that will improve the efficiency and reliability of your system.

Monitoring and measuring your site’s utilities and systems will help:

  • identify trends
  • manage system performance
  • manage system maintenance schedules
  • reduce energy and
  • quickly detect and respond to potential issues before they happen.

What is required to use the Data Acquisition System?

  • Data Acquisition Module
    • This is a physical data logger and transmitter that sits on your site. Measurement equipment is connected to the Data Acquisition Module which transmits data to a secure server via a (data) SIM card or your LAN.
    • The Data Acquisition Module is a once-off purchase.
    • You can install multiple modules throughout your site which will reduce installation and cabling costs. Contact Compressed Air Alliance for pricing on multiple modules.
  • Annual subscription to access the cloud-based web application
    • the cost of your annual subscription varies depending on the size of your system – see below for more information.
    • The annual subscription is purchased through Compressed Air Alliance.
  • SIM Card or LAN connection
    • You can transmit data via a mobile phone network (SIM Card) or your LAN network. The default option is via SIM card. If you would like the LAN option, please contact Compressed Air Alliance.
    • The SIM card is purchased separately. Compressed Air Alliance can provide an international SIM card, if requested.
  • Measurement Equipment – eg flow meters, dew point sensors, pressure sensors, power meters, steam meters, water meters and associated data cables
    • All Compressed Air Alliance sensors and power meters are compatible with the Data Acquisition System.
    • Measurement Equipment is purchased separately. We suggest you contact Compressed Air Alliance to confirm if your measurement equipment is compatible with the Data Acquisition System.

Annual Subscription

You need an annual subscription to use the DAS. The cost of your annual subscription varies depending on the number of channels you are measuring.

Example: if you are measuring (i) flow, (ii) wet pressure and (iii) dry pressure on one compressor, you need 3 measurement channels.

Example: If you are measuring (i) flow on compressor 1, (ii) flow on compressor 2, (iii) wet pressure on compressor 1, (iv) dry pressure on compressor 1, (v) total kW on compressor 1 and (vi) total kW on compressor 2, you need 6 measurement channels.

  • Small sites (S)
    • up to 25 measurement channels. This equates to roughly 2 compressors or 200kW
    • up to 5 users
    • data is available for up to 2 years after your subscription has expired
  • Medium sites (M)
    • up to 50 measurement channels. This equates to roughly 4 compressors or 1,000kW
    • up to 10 users
    • data is available for up to 5 years after your subscription has expired
  • Large sites (L)
    • up to 100 measurement channels. This equates to roughly 8 compressors or 2,000kW
    • up to 10 users
    • data is available for up to 5 years after your subscription has expired
  • Extra Large sites (XL)
    • up to 200 measurement channels. This equates to roughly 16 compressors
    • up to 20 users
    • data is available for up to 5 years after your subscription has expired
